Ancient Rite
Performed
Under cresent
Reflected light
The surface ripples
waves shall form
A portal to elsewhere
A summoning
Ancestral spirit of ancient times
Bring forth your form
Appirition of deadly might
This spell of hatred will call
Hallowed ground
Burned away
Marks of death
Drawn in blood
Once fell in times of old
Rest now denied
Soul trapped in this place
Hate builds inside
Dragged up into the world
Against thy will
Bound to an evil one
Wished only ill
I awaken
The portal shimmers
dark shapes appear
from elder lore
It begins
Ancestral spirit of ancient times
Bring forth uour form
Appirition of deadly might
This spell of hatred will call

I've been a huge fan of this band since hearing 'Campfires', an album which I've played to death! This one is a little different in a way, and it took me sooooo long to get in to, but once it clicked, holy shit did it click. Sea Fire is an absolute banger that evokes sounds of Filosofem era Burzum and Mystifier to my ears...not a bad mix at all. I love 'Ghostly Shores' so much I bought the CD and the Cassette and now I eagerly await whatever comes next from OCR. Skek-Gra

I'd say Havukruunu is the rightful holder of the Crown and the mantle of Quorthon. Epic choirs, vikingesque themes and tales from the other times, of the Finnish paganism back in the days before our ancestors were brought to the cross and forced to kneel while feeling the bloody sword of saviour on their throats made to kiss the hand of murderers who burnt thousands, tore down our holy places and took our holy days. Eyes teary I listen to these songs, never forgiving the crimes of the cross! Peikonmieli
Joseph Hawker subverts the musical and sociopolitical status quo with a black metal triptych that's as incendiary as it is impressionistic. Bandcamp New & Notable Jan 5, 2022

I think I discovered this one (well, Saor in general) in 2022. In addition to an embalming soundtrack go-to, it's definitely a cold-weather favorite. skyturtles
